Beth Gatchell is a singer-songwriter whose music is described as "a chewy folk center with crunchy rock and blues edges." Her sound and her musical offerings are eclectic. Her musical background includes in old-time country music and yogic chanting. Though the two might seem light-years apart "there is a commonality in that this is soul music, heart music. The repetitive nature requires you to be truly present. If you're not, you make a mistake, and it brings you back to the moment."
Her originals combine folk, blues, jazz, rock, old-time country and more to create a unique heartfelt sound. Her voice has been compared to Chrissy Hynde and Jewel. Her guitar is rock-steady. Her writing is soulful, deep and sometimes quirky. Themes touch upon Love as a guiding force, work-life balance, healing, and realizing one's potential to name a few.
Beth teaches for Roots of American Music and Broadway School of Music and the Arts, plays solo gigs in Cleveland and Akron, is part of the kirtan band duo Vandanam (with George Shumway), holds down the rhythm guitar and vocals with old-time band Down the Road, leads the music at Renaissance Unity two Sundays per month, and can be found playing for senior residences across northeast Ohio.
Her latest projects are a single called "Kind 365" written to inspire kindness as a lifestyle and Breakthrough, her forthcoming album.

State of Grace was written just before I left a job of 11 years. At that time I was thinking about leaving, but hadn't made any plans. Life had its own plans for me and shortly thereafter gave me a big push. The song is a cry for grace, inner peace, reciprocity and the conviction to claim grace.
Aunt Dinah’s Quilting Party - an upbeat tune from the days of yesteryear. These kinds of songs provided people with entertainment and intrigue before radio, tv and social media. Song by Patrick Gilmore, Frances Kyle, John Fletcher circa 1850.
A song written in a Crate and Barrel parking lot after a meaningful conversation with a friend about healing on many planes. The conversation touched me deeply. The earth and sound have been key to my healing process. This song is dedicated to all who desire healing on any level.
This song was written for Mother's Day. It is an appreciation for my own mom, my aunts and all who have mothered me no matter what body they inhabit.
