ALL-LEVELS YOGA PRACTICE
(If you are familiar with my mostly offering practices for women
know that this practice is open to ALL, not just women)
Tending the Flame, Harvesting the Gifts
Saturday, September 21, 10a-12noon Beth Gatchell, Facilitator
To build a sustainable fire, we gather fuel,
Build a structure that supports the flame and then
Find our inner spark
We ignite the tinder
We mindfully fuel the fire with kindling and breath
We temper the fire by adding earth and water
Most of the time we need coals to provide steady, moderate heat
The coals and the fire itself are gifts of transformation
HOW WE WILL TEND THE FLAME AND EXPLORE THE GIFTS
We'll begin with warm-ups, move toward a vigorous, but sustainable fire with asana and breath
and then come to a slow, steady burn with long holds that ebb to coals and contemplation.
At the end of class we will harvest the gifts of our practice and journal about the
metaphorical fuel we take into the autumn season.
Come explore your agni (fire) with breath, movement, chanting and meditation
and then reflect upon the gifts of your harvest.

Yogic practices reduce muscle tension, improve emotional and physical flexibility, increase physical and mental balance, help us maintain focus and calm even during stressful events. So let's leverage the benefits of yogic wisdom and insert it into daily life to reap the benefits all day long. A breath here, a pose there, you'll be amazed! This workshop is great for your wellness-at-work programs, teams at care-giving workplaces, those with physical jobs and for yoga studios that want to show students how to take yogic practice beyond the mat.
In this session there is one teacher and one student. These sessions accommodate your unique needs, body, life-experiences, approach and goals. We focus on the skills, the breath, the movement and meditation that best supports your physical, mental, emotional, human needs now. We adjust as we go taking into account stressors, life events, the menstrual cycle, and more. Please let me know if you need trauma-informed care. The gifts of practice include more physical, mental and emotional strength; flexibility in the mind and body; the ability to be present without distraction; greater compassion for yourself and others. It is an honor to co-create these sessions. Zoom or in-person. Private location in Cuyahoga Falls in the national park.
I'd love to offer yoga for your family, event, work team or group. I can offer a variety of yoga styles and intensities from very intense to very restful. Different styles and intensities meet us in different seasons of our lives. None is better or worse. It's about your need. I'm especially excited to offer classes for women in perimenopause. I enjoy supporting diverse audiences with yogic practices. Investment is based on the number of attendees and length of the event.
Because yoga is not one-size fits all. In a one-on-one session you and I can take a nuanced approach to your needs and goals.
Join me for an introductory practice focused on sitting and standing well. It's so simple, but not easy. Yet sitting and standing well makes for a sustainable practice and life.
TOOLS FOR THE MAT. TOOLS FOR LIFE. This is an inclusive community that upholds the values of growth, kindness, vulnerability, curiosity, truth and progress.
I had the honor of being interviewed for the RAW series by Tammy Polenz, premiere fitness trainer, author, and wellness expert. We spoke about yoga on and off the mat, trauma-sensitive yoga, digestion and an interesting mix of things you may not know about yoga!
